How do I install my–Ditto?

The installation of your my–Ditto is very simple. Connect the power cable and network cable between your Internet box, and your my–Ditto. Finally, turn on my–Ditto. Wait for the power, Lan, and status LED lighting. The my–Ditto is ready! Connect your USB administrator - the gray one - on your computer. No installation is required. The application is launched directly from the USB drive. enter your details: username, password and email (useful to initialize your smartphone). You turn and you have access to your data

How do I register a new user/my–Ditto key?

Creating a new user and authenticating a my–Ditto key is the same process.

1. Plug the USB key on the port USB1
2. Wait until the USB1LED lights up
3. Press the copy button and remain press
4. Wait the first beep and release the button
5. Wait two simultaneous beep
6. Take the key.
7. You can now activate it on a computer and use it.

I forgot my password to the myDitto application — what do I do?

You will need to re-authenticate your key with the myDitto server in order to reset your old password. For step-by-step instructions, please refer to the myDitto User Manual.

How can I access from a Mobile Handheld Device?

my–Ditto is also accessible from a large variety of mobile devices. In order to enjoy direct, peer-to-peer access to my–Ditto from your mobile device, the my–Ditto mobile application must be installed and your Email must be verified.

Verify Email address:
If a valid Email address been entered at first registration:

1. An automatic approval message will be send to the email address.
2. After confirming the message you are ready to access the mobile application.

Otherwise:

1. Press on the top right phone icon.
2. Enter a valid Email address and click send.
3. An automatic approval message will be sent to the email address.
4. After confirming the message you are ready to access to the mobile application.

Windows Mobile OS 6.1 or Higher:
1. Go to the my–Ditto web site support page located at www.my–Ditto.com and select the my–Ditto application for Windows Mobile.
2. Download and install the application.
3. Launch the my–Ditto mobile application.
4. Enter your Email address and click ok.

For iPhone/iPod Touch:
1. Go to the iPhone App Store.
2. Search for the my–Ditto application.
3. Install it and launch the application.
4. Enter your Email address and click ok.

For Android 2.2:
1. Go to the Android Market.
2. Search for the my–Ditto application.
3. Install it and launch the application.
4. Enter your Email address and click ok.

Can I back up my folders?

With my–Ditto, just one click to protect your records. As of this moment, when you are on a local network, the backup will be performed. Automatic, continuous and invisible.

Can I share my folders?

Three folders are present in your interface. The "public" folder is shared between all users of my–Ditto. The folder with your name is personal to you and only you can access it. However, you can share some of these personal folders with users of your choice. By right clicking, you share your private folders using an access level: a restricted sharing "read only", or a full sharing "reading and writing". Your shared folders will appear in the folder "shared" of users.

How to connect an external USB drive?

my–Ditto allows you to share your files stored on external USB hard drives.

To connect an external hard drive:

1. Connect the external hard disk drive to my–Ditto’s "USB 2" port located on the rear panel.
2. Wait until the USB2 LED is illuminated.
3. The root folder of the my–Ditto application will contain External Disk folder which represent the external hard drive. The external hard disk drive also appears as a Folder Share in your local network under my–Ditto’s directory.

Can I access myDitto from my local area network?

Yes. Any computer and device connected to your home/office network should recognize myDitto as an additional network/workgroup computer. It will appear as myDitto. Please refer to myDitto’s User Manual for additional guidance.

How many users can be registered to a single myDitto server?

Up to 30 different users/myDitto keys, can be registered to each myDitto server. Up to six users can simultaneously access myDitto.

How to restore to factory settings?

Reset my–Ditto by pressing both COPY and RELEASE buttons simultaneously for 20 seconds, after 2 sec. a beep sound is heard; keep pressing until a second beep sound is heard.

This restores all the settings to their default values, and should only be used as a last resort. Please take the following steps:

1. Deactivate the Administrator.
2. The my–Ditto time zone will set to GMT.
3. To configure time my–Ditto will use a default time server.
4. Delete all the DNS address settings, if they exist.
5. Obtain an Automatic IP.
6. Disable the bitTorrent.
7. Enable iTunes/Media Server.
8. Return rescan interval to 900 sec.
9. Return the my–Ditto name and workgroup to their default names.
10. Set the Advanced Settings password to the default one.

Can I view my files in the way that suits me?

Yes, the display can easily be configured, like Windows. With a simple click, you can view thumbnails of your pictures or detailed information. Choose the display that suits you, and find your photos a glance
